trouble installing gettext on Snow leopard

I'm in trouble installing gettext on Snow Leopard:

sudo port -d install gettext +universal

[...]

bash-3.2$ sudo port installed libiconv

I have tried the installation with and without the option +universal, always the same error. I'don't know how to solve this problem. thanks a lot for your help.
