awstats installation fails — at Initial Version

Description
Recently (8/16/2012) did a macports update and awstats failed to install. Error message is below. OS is Mountain Lion.
---> Computing dependencies for awstats Error: reinplace: sed: RE error: illegal byte sequence Error: org.macports.patch for port awstats returned: reinplace sed(1) failed Please see the log file for port awstats for details:
/opt/local/var/macports/logs/_opt_local_var_macports_sources_rsync.macports.org_release_tarballs_ports_www_awstats/awstats/main.log
