Building of octave-octcdf fails

I cannot install (build) the octcdf package for Octave (I have octave-devel, Octave version 3.6.3 from MacPorts):

filet:~ mbrennwa$ sudo port install octave-octcdf

Error: org.macports.build for port octave-octcdf returned: command execution failed

This was not a clean attempt. Please "sudo port clean octave-octcdf", then try again, then attach the new main.log file if it fails again.
