Issue with rsync and selfupdate on OSX lion — at Version 1

this is the error i have been getting 

sudo port -d selfupdate

If this happens all the time, then you have a problem with your network. Perhaps you network blocks rsync traffic. If so, investigate alternate means of syncing your ports tree, including using Subversion or a daily tarball. These methods are described in our wiki.
