    1 I'd also check for recently installed fonts which might be broken. Inkscape launches ok for me (on OS X 10.7.5), no matter which version of freetype is installed.

     3[*] I also tested launching older (locally compiled) builds (with freetype 2.5.0 installed at build time) after upgrading to freetype 2.5.1, and could not reproduce the crash.
