    11The problem was not actually with MacPorts.  A few years back GRASS used to require that GRASS_PYTHON be set, so I had that in my .bash_profile.  But, it was pointing to an old directory so it caused the failure.  Just unsetting that allows it run correctly. 
     2Trac won't seem to let me close this ticket....
