Grass7 gui fails to run — at Initial Version

Description
Grass7 builds and installs. But, if I try to run it, using the gui, I get this error:
g.gui Launching <wxpython> GUI in the background, please wait... ERROR: wxGUI requires wxPython. No module named wxversion
It looks like perhaps the same issue that grass6 had 5 years ago: https://trac.macports.org/ticket/36904
I tried installing both with the default variant and with +gui, with no difference.
