Ticket #62580, comment 30
v1 v2 32 32 pyQSO appears to work great on the Mac and Linux. But development stopped a couple of years ago. (See https://github.com/ctjacobs/pyqso ) 33 33 34 XLog is a pretty good program and is actively being developed but it does NOT use a database engine (like sqlite or MariaDB etc). XLog just writes to a text file. I suspect the performance will be poor with a large logbook. XLog is in Macports! 34 XLog is a pretty good program and is actively being developed but it does NOT use a database engine (like sqlite or MariaDB etc). XLog just writes to a text file. I suspect the performance will be poor with a large logbook. XLog is in Macports! But the port is really outdated. It is better to download the source. I should file a ticket asking that the port be updated to pull the latest release. 35 35 36 36 So it looks like pyQSO is one of the better choices for a cross platform logging program right now. But it will never compete with a logging program designed to run on one OS like MacLoggerDX, RumLog or Aether.
