Description
Does anyone know why exactly Qt5 fails for PowerPC on Mac OS? Apparently BSD has it: ftp://netbsd.csie.nctu.edu.tw/pub/pkgsrc/current/pkgsrc/x11/qt5-qtbase/index.html
It is written in C++, and we have recent gcc working on ppc/ppc64 on 10.5.8. What got broken so much after Qt4?

On MacOS, qt5 uses SDK features and Apple technologies that don’t exist on older systems.
It is conceivably possible but practically very difficult to build qt5 as X11 on Apple hardware.
qt 5.15 works OK on a G5 running debian 11, so this is not a hardware limitation, but a software limitation.
