    1 IBM Semeru based on Java 8 officially only supports x64, while builds for both x64 and aarch64 are provided for Java 11 and later. The `openjdk8-openj9` portfile contains `supported_archs  x86_64`, but that indeed doesn't stop arm64 users from installing this port. But, as you noticed, it doesn't play nice on Apple Silicon devices and the installation of the port will trigger the offer to run `rev-upgrade`.
