     149There are a number of enhancements which would improve MacPorts, but time is finite and the project is perpetually in need of more base-level developers.  This means that new features must be prioritized (bugs usually being more important) and other, useful features don't get implemented for some time.  See [http://guide.macports.org/#project.contributing the guide entry on contributing] for how to get involved if you'd like to help improve MacPorts.
