Versioned tarballs are always preferred. The latest stable version is 0.9.3. I would think that should be the update.

pmk has already been upgraded to 0.10.1. This bug can be closed now.

PMK still fails to build on Intel, but there isn't anything that can be done about it now because it relies on some assembly code I think. See sourceforge bug http://sourceforge.net/tracker/index.php?func=detail&aid=1569713&group_id=94395&atid=607694.

Attached patch does a few things:

upgrade to 0.10.4
fix build on Intel (patch-detect_cpu_asm.s.diff)
move config files from /etc to ${prefix}/etc
install man pages in ${prefix}/share/man via patch (patch-pmkcfg.sh) instead of post-destroot
runs pmksetup in post-activate to setup pmk.conf file
