For instance, "port -v -f upgrade gnome-vfs" rebuilds gettext, expat and perl5.8 at least twice, making the upgrade very slow to complete. A port shouldn't be installed more than once.

I'm closing this as a duplicate of #10827. Though this one was created earlier, I've already closed several others as duplicates of 10827 before I saw this one.
