Any chance to have it commited ? I asked on macports-dev mailing list what should be the way to submit new ports, to whom should they be assigned but got no reply at all :-(

Note that the CVS has some fixes and some doc updates. You may want to apply the corresponding patches. It seems that xmlstarlet is no longer developed (I installed it from the CVS last year, and nothing has changed since).

CVS is really close to 1.0.1 release. There is only a small bugfix in the ls command and a few doc updates indeed.
I recently submitted a patch for in-place editing of xml files to Mikhail Grushinskiy (developer of XMLStarlet) and he replied Thanks, I will let you know when patch is applied.
So I guess there may be an update soon. And even if it's not the case, it would be nice for people wanting xmlstarlet to get it from MacPorts.
