Description
The gnuplot port installs a directory in the root directory "/gnuplot/4.0/ ...". This happens in the destroot stage.

I'm closing this bug because:
- I could not reproduce it
- gnuplot has been update to 4.2.
Please re-open it if the problem persists with 4.2 (and please install it with -tdv, so I'll be able to figure out what's going on).

I am sorry to report that I cannot reproduce this problem. Could you please provide me with more information on your system? What does sudo port -t destroot give?
