BUG: opt directory gets overwritten

Description

I installed MacPorts for OS X 10.4 (on a machine with 10.4.9) in a situation where there was already a /opt directory that happened to have a subdirectory used by a VPN application. This directory was not named /opt/local, but after installing MacPorts, the only directory in /opt was /opt/local.

Needless to say, the VPN client doesn't work, and I'll have to reinstall it.

Are you using a very old version of the cisco VPN client ? If yes, upgrade, newer versions don't have this problem.

An old Cisco vpn client is the only known reason for this. Since the bug is in the vpn client, and a new Cisco vpn client is the fix, I don't see a reason to keep this ticket open.
