Apparently /opt/local/lib/python2.4/site-packages/pytz/init.py is contained in multiple ports (py-pytz and py-matplotlib).
Moreover py-pytz seems somewhat inconsistent in its name, I get messages and find files corresponding to pytz, py-tz, and py-pytz.
> sudo port upgrade installed
Error: No port py-tz found.
Error: No port py-tz found.
---> Activating py-pytz 2007c_0
Error: Activating py-pytz 2007c_0 failed: Image error: /opt/local/lib/python2.4/site-packages/pytz/__init__.py is being used by the active py-matplotlib port. Please deactivate this port first, or use the -f flag to force the activation.
It seems especially unfortunate that py-matplotlib depends on py-tz (which does not exist anymore, its py-pytz now) and at the same timc conflicts with it, as they have overlapping files.
