The above was for my Mac at home. At the office I have a PowerBook G4, on which the sane-backends package installed successfully. However, it installed its docs in ${prefix}/doc, while all other packages that use the doc tree are installed under ${prefix}/share/doc.

Need to add
destroot.violate_mtree: yes
to Portfile. See log for rev. 27199.
Not sure why the Mac in my office installed OK; I thought I had recently rebuilt port, but maybe not.
