InstallingMacPorts steps out of order, or confusing

Description

I'm a new user of MacPorts. Reading through InstallingMacPorts, step 3 "Set the shell enviornment" feels out of place.

Quoting InstallingMacPorts#RequirementsfortheMacPortsshellenvironment

The MacPorts binary installer places a .profile file in your home directory

It makes sense if the point of step 3 is for those who will be using the "Install From Source Method" shown in step 4.

After installation using the binary installer, the installed .profile shows:

# Your previous .profile (if any) is saved as .profile.mpsaved

Seems that either step 3 and 4 should be reversed, or step three broken into two parts with the second part after step 4. Either way, it might be best to let binary installer users know that they should either wait until after installing to complete step 3, or be aware that any changes they make will be moved out of the way and will need to be put back before continuing.

Might also be helpful to add /usr/X11R6/bin to the path when editing your .profile

Even though I believe the ticket was filed against the InstallingMacPorts wiki doc, I'll still assign it to Mark as the comments here may apply to the equivalent guide section.

I agree that the steps are out of order. I think I have rectified that in the new guide, along with an ambiguity you pointed out that implied that a ~./profile was only created if MacPorts was installed with the OS X package, which isn't true.

So please look at this and see if it satisfies your concerns. http://geeklair.net/new_macports_guide/#installing

The install instructions on the Wiki will be discarded soon in favor of better information.
