The git-core package attempts to install a file also installed by mod_perl2.
---> Installing openssh 4.7p1_1+darwin_8 ---> Activating openssh 4.7p1_1+darwin_8 ---> Cleaning openssh ---> Staging git-core into destroot ---> Installing git-core 1.5.3.3_0+doc ---> Activating git-core 1.5.3.3_0+doc Error: Target org.macports.activate returned: Image error: /opt/local/lib/perl5/5.8.8/darwin-2level/perllocal.pod is being used by the active mod_perl2 port. Please deactivate this port first, or use the -f flag to force the activation. Error: Status 1 encountered during processing. make: *** [git-core.installed] Error 1

Google tells me that this is most likely a bug in both packages.
http://lists.freebsd.org/pipermail/freebsd-perl/2005-June/000665.html is a comment for FreeBSD, but It quite likely applies to git as well. Could somebody add ryan@… to the CC list (I don't have permission). And/or a perl expert or two, if ryan isn't one. Thanks!
