Hi Tristan, thank you very much for the report. I've been keeping an eye on offlineimap, but it appears to me that the 5.99.x series is a release candidate series; if that's the case, I'm not inclined to update our offlineimap port just yet, as that might unnecessarily worry users who highly value their mail. In particular, I note that a Mac OS X-specific memory leak bug is awaiting closure.

We could put this release into an offlineimap-devel port, whose name would appropriately indicate the non-stable status, but I doubt that it would be worth it given the apparently infrequent non-stable releases that the offlineimap's developer makes. Therefore, unless you find evidence that this is indeed a stable release or can give another good reason to update the port, I'd prefer to wait until the 6.0 series comes out.

Notwithstanding the foregoing, thank you very much for your report, and please do let me know if you spot a stable release; it means that users are less likely to have to put up with me forgetting to check for updates :P

Fair enough, up to you. A couple of points

Anyway as I said it's up to you. I just thought I should comment here so that people can make up their own mind and upgrade on their own if they so wish.

Cheers, Tristan

Why would he hide the changelog in there?? No wonder I didn't see it. :-) Well, since the developer has marked all of the releases as unstable, and there don't seem to be bugs that are open against 5.99.4 but closed against 4.0.16, I think it's fair enough to bump the port. Applied in changeset:30705. Thank you once again.
