I've installed Wireshark via MacPorts on Leopard. Wireshark now crashes when I attempt to load pcap files I had previously been able to open under Wireshark in Tiger. Below is the error message I receive when Wireshark exits. If there is any other information I can provide that would be helpful, please let me know!
The program 'wireshark' received an X Window System error.
This probably reflects a bug in the program.
The error was 'BadMatch (invalid parameter attributes)'.
(Details: serial 5718 error_code 8 request_code 152 minor_code 4)
(Note to programmers: normally, X errors are reported asynchronously;
that is, you will receive the error a while after causing it.
To debug your program, run it with the --sync command line
option to change this behavior. You can then get a meaningful
backtrace from your debugger if you break on the gdk_x_error() function.)

I think this trac is describing the same initial problem as in trac 13012 (http://trac.macosforge.org/projects/macports/ticket/13012). I too have the same problem, but it appears that the wireshark folks know about this. It may be related to changes in Apple's X11. There is a bugzilla item open at the wireshark page for this: http://bugs.wireshark.org/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=1953.
Can you confirm that trying a new capture also causes the same issue? Further, does changing the X11 colors to Thousands (as described in the bugzilla item) seem to resolve the issue?
