gnuplot/pdflib not building

Looks like pdflib is the culprit.

It would also be good if this did not build teTeX if another version of TeX is installed (TeXLive, since teTeX is deprecated).

I'm confused. The problem seems to occur with pdflib, not gnuplot, and I cannot reproduce it.
