`port variants` should fail when no port is found

"no port found" is reported erroneously when a port has no variants:

% port variants iconv

No port iconv found.
iconv has no variants

[nox@…]

No, "iconv" does not exist, libiconv does.

Please note that this produces a huge error with trunk/:
