Description
gnucash 2.2.1, Revision 2, gnome/gnucash (Variants: universal, without_quotes, without_hbci, without_ofx, without_docs, guile16)
Installed gnucash (using all defaults) and all prerequisites successfully, but gnucash fails to run, producing the following:
gnc.bin-Message: main: binreloc relocation support was disabled at configure time.
I have done port selfupdate and upgraded all outdated ports, but the error remains.

Please put this "on hold". I believe I had a fink installation interfering with things. I removed everything relating to fink and then was having problems with macports. I've removed all of macports and haven't gotten gnucash re-installed in order to verify the bug I reported.

I have this problem with macports 1.60 and macos 10.5.2. Is there any further information that would be helpful in diagnosing this bug?

Gnucash 2.2.4 made it into svn in r35110. Please reproduce your error on this version and reopen the ticket if required. Please add detailed information on how to reproduce it. I managed to compile gnucash with --enable-binreloc and then it dies on opening /proc/self/map which of course does not exist. On the other hand I still see the binreloc message "relocation support was disabled at configure time." using the standard port install, which is true on the one hand and which does not cause gnucash to terminate during launch on the other. It is just a message. You can safely ignore it.
Assigning to the port maintainer.
