I fixed it in r36022, applying a patch mentioned in another bug report, but I don't have leopard. Could you please confirm that it works now?

The problem appears to be with the Leopard header file /usr/include/iconv.h. My temporary work around was to use the header file from macports by doing the following:
sudo mv /usr/include/iconv.h /usr/include/iconv.h.orig
sudo ln -s /opt/local/include/iconv.h /usr/include/iconv.h
and then cleaning and rebuilding arm-elf-gcc3. I really hate modifying system files but I couldn't find a configure option that would let me force it during the build.
