I've seen other ports disabling variants due to broken ports on which they depend. I thought this would be the standardized way in disabling optional dependencies when they are broken. I might have been misguided then and there are no standards agreed upon. Also the samba3 ticket was untouched for a month modulo error reports for different versions/platforms and there was no hint of a fix being developed.

#13559 is fixed now, anyway.

I don't think it's a xffm problem if the samba3 port is broken ? (and only on Leopard, as well ?)
