Submitting my local portfile for mg (a very lightweight emacs-like editor). Currently building mg-20070918.

Is there any specific reason for setting the configure environment, as without setting this mg builds without issue?

No, it was in the Portfile template I was using and I didn't remove it. As you say, there is no need for it as it builds fine without it. I'll replace the Portfile.
