not building on my MBP. builds fine on my G5.

It works for me on a MacBook Pro with Mac OS X 10.4.11, Xcode 2.4.1 and MacPorts 1.7.0 from trunk. What version of Mac OS X, Xcode and MacPorts do you have? What does the command
say on your system? On mine, it says
