Description
There are some issues with the current version of ruby offered by macports (1.8.6-p110) regarding net/https as explained in http://blade.nagaokaut.ac.jp/cgi-bin/scat.rb/ruby/ruby-list/44066.
Upgrading to 1.8.6-p111 (the latest) should be straightforward.
I've contacted the maintainer with no reply.
Regards,
Arcadio Rubio

I agree on this. Even more, the version shipped with Leopard is newer than the one provided by MacPorts.

Maintainer timeout, especially because of security issues. Updated in r34233.
