Description
I am submitting a new Portfile for mktemp (http://www.mktemp.org/) which is not yet available via macports. The latest version of mktemp provides a -p parameter which is not available with the base Mac OS X version, and is sometimes useful.

Hm, we already have a mktemp in coreutils (GNU, this one here is BSD). But this will definitely conflict with coreutils +with_default_names
.

Yes, I realized that right after opening this ticket. Since the two implementations are compatible (from the mktemp website) :
A different, but compatible, implementation of mktemp is available as part of GNU coreutils.
it might not be necessary to add this port, however having a different implementation might be important for some people, and having a separate mktemp is quicker to deploy.
Is there also a simple solution to indicate incompatibilities between ports ? I have not found any indication of one in the macports guide, in which case adding this port would probably be a bad idea.

What do you think of adding this port as "bsdmktemp" with a "with_default_names" variant? We could then add a check in pre-fetch to ensure $prefix/bin/mktemp does not exist.

How to go on with this? Note there is already /usr/bin/mktemp
.

I don't need this port anymore, and anyway the coreutils port would fullfil this need. This can be closed.
