gnome-terminal fails to compile

I've searched for this error everywhere without luck so I'm posting a bug about it. My apologies if this isn't the right approach.

I've tried installing gnome through macports, and the installation fails when it reaches compiling of gnome-terminal.

error message:

This is with version 1.600.
