Do I have to change portfile? Simple port fetch ntfs-3g doesn't work...

You don't have to change the Portfile, just use this command:
sudo env MASTER_SITES_LOCAL=http://distfiles.macports.org/ntfs-3g port -v fetch ntfs-3g

Thanks, although (for the benefit of anyone else who lands up here) I think that is supposed to read MASTER_SITE_LOCAL (singular) which worked for me; MASTER_SITES_... did not. -J
