Description
GTK2's Portfile says, "Please uninstall or deactivate the cairo port and reinstall it by running port install cairo +quartz
" This is not correct. The cairo universal variant builds the quartz code. The cairo port does not have a quartz variant any longer. See also ticket #15558.

As I said in #15558, the universal variant has nothing to do with it, but you're right that since 1.6.0, cairo includes quartz by default (on Tiger and above); you don't need to select any variant to get it.
