petitpoucet requires OpenSceneGraph, for which a port needs to be written first. So I'll look into that.

Added OpenSceneGraph 2.4.0 port in r38637. But petitpoucet 0.1.0 doesn't seem to like it. Will investigate tomorrow.

petitpoucet requires that gpsbabel be modified so that it provides a library, not just a binary. Possibly we can add these patches to the gpsbabel port. But I sent email to the petitpoucet mailing list asking why these patches have not been included in gpsbabel upstream.

I've learned from the mailing list that petitpoucet 0.1.4 now includes the patched source of gpsbabel. So maybe we can use that instead of having to patch the gpsbabel port.
I've also received a guide on compiling petitpoucet and its dependencies on the Mac. It helped me write a port for VirtualPlanetBuilder, another dependency. That is committed in r38705.

Is there still interest in having a port for this?
The homepage in the request has since shutdown and development of the project stopped in 2011; the site http://petit-poucet.org/ is still up, though all it has is a story in French, and clicking on the logo opens the project's SourceForge page.
There is a binary of version 0.3.0 for Mac already available on SourceForge. Since it is 64-bit it likely still works for future macOS versions.
I'm starting work on this portfile.
Having a little trouble determining if I should call the port "spip" or "pti" or "petitpoucet" but at this point I'm going with the latter.
