Description
I downloaded Macports 1.6.0-10.5-Leopard.dmg, clicked on this, and ran the .pkg file. Everything seemed to run fine, but a .profile file was not created, as described in the Guide, and none of the commands worked. Following the notes I figured the thing to do was add relevant paths in my .bash_profile file. I added these lines :
export PATH=$PATH:/opt/local/bin:/opt/local/sbin export MANPATH=$MANPATH:/opt/local/share/man
This did the trick ok. I guess I am medium techy-experienced, so this wasn't too hard, but it is a bug, and it will throw nearly all newbies....
