Hi !
Current CVS snapshot for xml-light supports a META file, which makes it possible to detect and configure dependant packages using ocamlfind.
Could you update current macport to this CVS ? I can provide a fixed Portfile if needed.

Maintainer seems to be absent.
Usually MacPorts provides only stable releases unless there is a good reason to use unreleased code. I have no experience with ocaml ports, would a simple patch to the current version 2.2 be enough to add this META file?

Just browsing through ancient tickets. There's a fork at https://github.com/ncannasse/xml-light in case it's relevant. The initial site seems pretty much dead if they didn't manage to make any single release for more than 10 years.
