Description
The Cocoa version of emacs is now part of the regular emacs CVS repository and scheduled for release 23.1. There have been many changes to emacs-app since the rc3 version that is now in macports. Perhaps the port should be renamed to emacs-devel to emphasize that this is an unofficial, unstable release?

The catch will be nailing down a relatively stable snapshot date. I have an Oct 1, 2008 build underway at the moment...

I'm trying the latest checkout, and I'm also checking whether use_parallel_build
works. It should, as the documentation recommends using make -j2
when building.

Well, the 2009-01-04 cvs checkout builds, but it hangs when processing my .emacs. (Fatal error(11)) It might just be an error due to one of the many lisp files I'm loading. I'll go ahead and commit this as emacs-app-devel though.
