Description
Leafnode is a software package that implements a store & forward NNTP proxy (client and server) that supportis TCP connections across IPv4 and IPv6. It can be used to give a regular newsreader off-line functionality, merge news articles from several upstream newsservers for newsreaders that only support one server well and avoid duplicate news download for a small LAN with multiple users reading news.

I am a bit surprised that this port depends on zsh-devel. Does it really need the development (beta) version? Does it need zsh at all?
Note: -devel is not meant for header files as often used in Linux distributions. Instead, -devel marks a beta version or release candidate of a port.
You don't need to CC yourself as reporter.

The attached start scripts depend on Z-Shell. But I can test them with /bin/zsh - which would would make things a little easier.

No, in my opinion depending on zsh from MacPorts is the right thing. My only concern is that it should be port:zsh and not port:zsh-devel.

Alternatively, it could depend on path:${prefix}/bin/zsh:zsh which would be satisfied by zsh-devel as well.
