Description
This kind soul has seperated out the dtrace specific Apple modifications to the system Python, and prepared a patch against 2.5.2 that provides this.

It would be great if we could have a +dtrace variant on Python to enable this.

The patch link at the linked blog seems to be broken.
I went and created my own patch (aginst 2.6, but I believe it applies cleanly to 2.5.2) from the Apple distribution and submitted it to Python. Right now it's flawed in that the Makefile assumes you have dtrace support, I'm hoping someone with more knowledge in that area can fix it.

python25 is deprecated and scheduled to be removed in a couple of months.
