Your first error log shows you downloading pidgin 2.4.3. I suggest you run a selfupdate and try again.

sudo port selfupdate
sudo port clean --all pidgin
sudo port install pidgin

comment:3 Changed 16 years ago by kioarthurdane@…

I tried using the commands suggested in the previous comment and it continued to fail.

[ kiodane @ Saturn : ~ ] sudo port selfupdate
Password:

MacPorts base version 1.600 installed

Downloaded MacPorts base version 1.600

The MacPorts installation is not outdated and so was not updated
selfupdate done!

Do you have libtool 1.5.26 installed? If not, then install/upgrade it and try again. Maybe it's a dependency bug in the port.

sudo port install libtool
sudo port clean pidgin
sudo port install pidgin

comment:5 Changed 16 years ago by kioarthurdane@…

Thank you. It seems that libtool is a dependancy of pidgin but is not part of the pidgin port.
