I am using the following command to install Putty
sudo /opt/local/bin/port install putty
When it gets to
Attempting to fetch glib-1.2.10.tar.gz from ftp://ftp.gtk.org/pub/gtk/v1.2
it gets stuck. I have tried twice now but with no luck.

Seems to work fine here. Do you have a firewall or proxy that could be interfering with FTP connections? I added some more mirrors in r42639 anyway.
