Description
On Mac OS X 10.4.11 Intel, with Xcode 2.5 and MacPorts 1.7.0, I cannot install xorg-libXcursor:
---> Fetching xorg-libXcursor ---> Verifying checksum(s) for xorg-libXcursor ---> Extracting xorg-libXcursor ---> Configuring xorg-libXcursor Error: Target org.macports.configure returned: configure failure: shell command " cd "/mp/var/macports/build/_Users_rschmidt_macports_dports_x11_xorg-libXcursor/work/libXcursor-1.1.9" && ./configure --prefix=/mp " returned error 1 Command output: checking if /usr/bin/gcc-4.0 supports -c -o file.o... yes checking whether the /usr/bin/gcc-4.0 linker (/usr/libexec/gcc/i686-apple-darwin8/4.0.1/ld) supports shared libraries... yes checking dynamic linker characteristics... darwin8.11.1 dyld checking how to hardcode library paths into programs... immediate checking whether stripping libraries is possible... yes checking if libtool supports shared libraries... yes checking whether to build shared libraries... yes checking whether to build static libraries... yes configure: creating libtool appending configuration tag "CXX" to libtool checking for ld used by /usr/bin/g++-4.0... /usr/libexec/gcc/i686-apple-darwin8/4.0.1/ld checking if the linker (/usr/libexec/gcc/i686-apple-darwin8/4.0.1/ld) is GNU ld... no checking whether the /usr/bin/g++-4.0 linker (/usr/libexec/gcc/i686-apple-darwin8/4.0.1/ld) supports shared libraries... yes checking for /usr/bin/g++-4.0 option to produce PIC... -fno-common checking if /usr/bin/g++-4.0 PIC flag -fno-common works... yes checking if /usr/bin/g++-4.0 static flag -static works... no checking if /usr/bin/g++-4.0 supports -c -o file.o... yes checking whether the /usr/bin/g++-4.0 linker (/usr/libexec/gcc/i686-apple-darwin8/4.0.1/ld) supports shared libraries... yes checking dynamic linker characteristics... darwin8.11.1 dyld checking how to hardcode library paths into programs... immediate appending configuration tag "F77" to libtool checking for pkg-config... /mp/bin/pkg-config checking pkg-config is at least version 0.9.0... yes checking for XCURSOR... configure: error: Package requirements (xrender >= 0.8.2 xfixes x11 fixesproto) were not met. Consider adjusting the PKG_CONFIG_PATH environment variable if you installed software in a non-standard prefix. Alternatively you may set the XCURSOR_CFLAGS and XCURSOR_LIBS environment variables to avoid the need to call pkg-config. See the pkg-config man page for more details. Error: Status 1 encountered during processing.
I'm not quite sure why, since I seem to have all the packages it says it requires:
$ port installed xrender xorg-libXfixes xorg-libX11 xorg-fixesproto The following ports are currently installed: xorg-fixesproto @4.0_0 (active) xorg-libX11 @1.1.5_1+universal (active) xorg-libXfixes @4.0.3_0+universal (active) xrender @0.9.4_4+macosx+universal (active)
[a few minutes later] Got it: it needs a dependency on xorg-renderproto.
