Description
Hi,
I've installed Imagemagick on my Mac OSX Leopard system using macports. It was working great. I now wish to fully utilize ImageMagick, but i find out that i cannot process and read pdf and ai files properly. Some more research has taught me that it is because ImageMagick has not been properly configured with Ghostscript.
So i installed ghostscript using macports.
Now i wish to reconfigure my installed version of Imagemagick to also include the installed version of ghostscript.
Can someone advise me how i would go about this? Do i need to uninstall and reinstall everything? Or is there a way to point ImageMagick to the path of Ghostscript without uninstalling everything??
CAN GHOSTSCRIPT PLEASE BE ADDED TO THE MACPORTS INSTALL OF ImageMagick so it is already automatically configured properly??
In the mean time, can someone guide me how to link the installed port Ghostscript to ImageMagick??
I would really appreciate some help, because i cannot find any documentation on the internet, and i've been searching continuously for the past 5 days.

Replying to blb@…:
You should be able to get ImageMagick to use ghostscript when you install it with
sudo port install ImageMagick +gs
. Useport variants ImageMagick
to see all the options which can be used with it.
Thanks, i have installed the ImageMagick +gs version and no error msg when installing. When i try to use ImageMagick in my CMS Typo3 however, i am still not able to read pdf's or ai-files. What could be the problem? Is there a way to check whether the configuration is done correctly? According to the Libraries, and delegates.xml ghostscript is linked to ImageMagick, so one would assume it to go well.
Hopefully you can help, eventhough i believe it is slightly outside this forum, since the installation process itself has been solved.
THanks again for your help
cheers!
Bob

This ticket is quite old, so I hope you have already reached a solution. If not, please "sudo port selfupdate" and try with the current version of the ImageMagick port, and if you still can't get ghostscript and ImageMagick to work together, ask on an ImageMagick mailing list how to make this work.
