#18999 closed defect (worksforme)
Gobby 0.4.8 is broken - badly - why is it even in macports ?

Description
There is no way to install it. It depends on things not even in macports and breaks. I tried to install it and it littered my macports installation with dozens of dependencies and then fail on gobby itself. Maybe I should check trac first before I try to install something because as far as I can see, there is no stable vs unstable macports and no way to uninstall orphans.
Frustrating.

gobby installed fine for me on Mac OS X 10.5.6 with Xcode 3.1.2. Try this:
sudo port selfupdate sudo port upgrade outdated sudo port clean gobby sudo port install gobby

Hmm I just did it today from scratch (reinstall everything - macports from scratch)
Strange

Did what? Did gobby install successfully for you?

I had +no_xll +quartz +carbon in my variants.conf. I bet that was it. I tried it without and it worked. Sorry for the false alarm.

tickets.
It would help if you would tell us on which port it depends you think is not in MacPorts? At least show us what error message you see. Gobby installs and works fine for me here. Sorry, I can't help you without more information.
