Description
I'd love to see the gEDA tools on MacPorts!
Description from their page:
The gEDA project has produced and continues working on a full GPL'd suite and toolkit of Electronic Design Automation tools. These tools are used for electrical circuit design, schematic capture, simulation, prototyping, and production. Currently, the gEDA project offers a mature suite of free software applications for electronics design, including schematic capture, attribute management, bill of materials (BOM) generation, netlisting into over 20 netlist formats, analog and digital simulation, and printed circuit board (PCB) layout.
Thank you for this great system!

There now seems to be a port for this: geda-gaf. Or is this something else ?

I second the request.
There have been Fink packageshttp://www.ghz.cc/charles/fink/. But I have given up on fink in general for being outdated.
Trying to get gEDA http://www.gpleda.org/sources.html to build has been a nightmare so far (not helped that I am relative novice at this). As far as I can figure it's because it uses GTK+, which appears nontrivial.
Have tried gtk-osx, but it's not quite working with gEDA.
Alternatively someone has been trying to blaze a GTK2+ trail, http://ifeghali.blogspot.com/2008/03/compiling-gtk-on-mac-os-x-105-leopard.html.
