I am having trouble when I attempt to install any ports that depend on ncurses. Any advice?
Environment

Hardware: MacBook @ GHz Intel Core 2 Duo
OS: Mac OS X 10.5.6
Relevant software: Xcode Version 3.1.2

Please clean the port and then run the debug install again and attach the complete output.

I had the exact same problem as the initial poster. Then I cleaned the port and tried installing again, and lo and behold it went smoothly, that time. First time the install was made as dependency from ncurses which itself was installed as a dependency. Second time I tried installing ncursesw directly.

Since nobody is providing the full debug output that might assist us in determining why this fails for you when it works for everybody else, I'm going to close this ticket.

Can you rerun with debug enabled and attach that output?
sudo port -d install ncursesw
