libusb or libusb-compat do not recognize Canon LIDE 25 correctly

The MacPorts installation of libusb and libusb-compat still do not correctly identify my scanner. The binaries provided by ​http://www.ellert.se/twain-sane/, however, work.

This issue is not related to the sane-backends port, as this scanner is supported by sane for quite some time already.

See the output of sane-find-scanner and "scanimage -L" attached for both cases.

No scanners were identified. If you were expecting something different,
check that the scanner is plugged in, turned on and detected by the
sane-find-scanner tool (if appropriate). Please read the documentation
which came with this software (README, FAQ, manpages).
