Will take a look at this but since the release of 0.47 is imminent can you try building inkscape-devel on SL to see if there is any difference? This is the latest release candidate.

Problem seems to be related to python25. Which version/revision do you have installed.

Most current python25 at time of the ticket :-)

The reason I ask is that after the latest revision (2.5.4_7 r57388), python25 fails to build for me on tiger ppc.
I'll run a rebuild of inkscape tonight to see if I can reproduce the problem.

I can't reproduce the problem on tiger ppc but I wonder if the suggestion in #21188 might fix your problem. Can you test and let me know the results?

Seeing no further response and version 0.48 builds fine closing as fixed.

Inkscape did indeed build successfully for me just now.
