arping not functional

Description

I am able to compile and install arping via "port install arping", but when I try to use it, it crashes.

OUTPUT: 

server:~ root# arping 192.168.1.99
arping(60124) malloc: *** error for object 0x100100210: pointer being freed was not allocated
*** set a breakpoint in malloc_error_break to debug
Abort trap

you can add -i <interface> to your command
